Bail denied for teen in weekend gang shooting | Crime

BARTOW, FL -- A Polk County judge has ordered 18-year-old Alejandro Baez-Garcia remain held without bail.

Polk County detectives arrested the teen, charging him with killing 18-year-old Juan Castillo and injuring Castillo's 11-year-old brother.

Investigators say Baez-Garcia confessed to the shooting in the 1700 block of West Parker St. in Lakeland.

Baez-Garcia allegedly joined four other gang members in a van, drove by Castillo's home, and opened fire.

Authorities say the two were in rival gangs.
