SEU Presents Othello at Polk Theatre | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
This April, Southeastern University presents the powerful and inspiring Shakespeare tragedy Othello.
The play will run April 1-3 at the Polk Theatre in Downtown Lakeland with showings on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
One of Shakespeare’s most eloquent works, Othello, tells a tragic tale of consuming emotion and radical revenge, of deception and delusion, of passion and power. It traces the transformation of Othello, a Moorish general respected by his Venetian colleagues despite his race, from nobility and rationality to devastating jealousy.
Department of Communication Chair John Pierce is directing the play.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students, seniors and alumni, and $10 for groups of 10 or more.
For more information and to buy tickets, call the Southeastern University Box Office at 863-669-4010 or visit the Arts and Events Calendar at www.seu.edu.
