Replacement announced for retiring finance director | Business
Lakeland, Florida - City Manager Doug Thomas announced that Mike Brossart will replace Greg Finch as the City's Finance Director on January 1, 2013. Finch will be retiring after serving the City for 27 years.
Thomas said, "I have a deep appreciation for the dedication and service Greg Finch has provided during his tenure as Finance Director. I will miss his tremendous financial insight and the entire organization wishes him the best as he enters his well deserved retirement at the end of the year."
Brossart is currently serving as Assistant Finance Director and he has been with the City for almost 17 years. Brossart said, "I am very excited about this new opportunity to lead the Department where I have spent the last 16 years." He added, "For decades the Finance Department has been blessed to have strong, dedicated leadership and I look forward to continuing that tradition."
Brossart graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Accounting. He grew up in Lakeland, graduating from Lakeland High School. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Government Finance Officer and a Certified Public Manager. Brossart is married to his wife Gina and they have three children.
