Postal worker, roommate arrested on child porn charges | Crime

Lakeland, Florida -- A United States Postal worker and his roommate face child porn charges after numerous images were found on their computers.

On Wednesday, July 18, Polk Sheriff's detectives conducted a search of a home in the 4700 block of Elon Crescent after they received information David Scheib may be downloading child porn.

When they arrived at the home, his roommate, Michael Reynolds was there and told police Scheib was house sitting for a friend. Detectives searched Reynolds' desktop computer and found numerous images of girls under 10 years old posed in lewd positions and pre-pubescent girls engaged in sex acts.

Reynolds, 43, was arrested and charged with 11 counts Possession of Child Pornography.

Later the day, detectives searched the home 42-year-old David Scheib was house sitting for and found more than 1,500 files--including 500 videos--depicting nude boys and girls from the ages of about 2 months to teenagers engaged in sex acts and/or images of their genitals. Fifty of the videos viewed so far were confirmed to be child porn.

Scheib, who has been working at the Florence Villa Post Office, was charged with 50 counts Possession of Child Pornography. At the time of his arrest, he was on felony probation on a previous possession arrest in 2009 for child porn.

The investigation is ongoing and may result in further charges for both men.
