Lakeland, FL - As part of their ongoing efforts to keep Lakeland residents informed, the Lakeland Police Department launched a weekly news show called LPD On The Record.

Lakeland Police says the show provides residents updates on upcoming community events, Lakeland's 10 Most Wanted, current crime trends, crime prevention information and much more.

It airs on Brighthouse Networks Channel 615 and Verizon FiOS channel 43, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening.

The show will be rebroadcast throughout the week at the following times:

It opens Thursday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m.

This one-night theatrical event will be hosted by Ali Landry, actress, entrepreneur (founder of Spokesmoms.com) and mom of two.

Lakeland, Florida -- The City of Lakeland's Public Works Department will be celebrating the American Public Works Association National Public Works Week (NPWW) on Friday, May 4 during Lakeland's First Friday event.

During this event, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., shops and restaurants will stay open with music and entertainment along the streets including a classic car show.

The NPWW celebration will be In Munn Park featuring displays from each of the Public Works divisions. Some of the feature displays include:

Downtown Lakeland to host urban mountain bike race Saturday

 

Lakeland, Florida-- This Saturday, April 28, Red Trail Racing of Lakeland will put on the Urban Mountain Bike Criterium in downtown Lakeland from 5:00-10:00 p.m.

According to the City of Lakeland, The Urban Criterium is a mountain bike race on asphalt and stairs that winds through the Iowa Street Parking Garage and along Lemon Street in front of City Hall.  

Anyone interested in watching the event can line designated areas of Iowa Street and the Iowa Street Garage for free.

"Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in Bartow this weekend

Bartow, Florida - All Saints' Academy will bring the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors to life in the musical parable, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" this weekend.

The show, under the direction of Mr. Paul Hughes, Mr. Mark Thielen, and Mrs. Jeannine Wright, includes more than 80 students taking the stage in Lakeland's Polk Theatre.

The vibrant production started  last night, but additional performances take place tonight, April 21 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m.
