Winter Haven pedestrian hit | News

Lakeland, FL - A Winter Haven woman remains in serious condition at Lakeland Regional Medical Center after she was hit by a vehicle while walking along Hwy 92 in Winter Haven.

Around 9:40 Friday night, 46 year-old Teresa Barnett was walking along Hwy. 92 in Winter Haven' Winter Haven Police says Michael A. Tice was traveling east in the inside lane.

Police say it appears that, for unknown reasons, Barnett stepped into the path of Tice's vehicle. Tice stopped and tried to help Barnett until paramedics arrived.

Barnett was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where she remains in serious condition.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
