Two men sought in Lakeland carjacking
News

Lakeland, Florida -- The Pasco Sheriff's Office says around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, July 29, Tampa Police reported they tried to stop a silver Mercedes Benz near the intersection of 22nd Street and 26th Avenue in Tampa.  The driver fled to Pasco County.

Then, around 9:00 p.m., deputies say two black male suspects abandoned the Mercedes near N. Davis Avenue in Lakeland.  They then carjacked a black Toyota Tacoma, which was parked in front of a home.  A mother and her daughter were in the car at the time.

Police say the mother was forcefully pulled from the car after one of the men demanded she get out of the vehicle.

As this was going on, the woman's husband heard her scream and ran outside and tried to attack one of them through the window of the car.  He suffered a bruise and scratches after being dragged several feet.

The men were able to flee the area.  No one was injured.
