Polk Co. woman wins Powerball | News

Polk City, Florida -- A Polk City woman claimed the $1 million prize in the POWERBALL drawing on Aug. 11.

The Florida Lottery says 46-year-old Pamela Ortagus bought the winning Quick Pick ticket at Prestan Store, located at 229 Dairy Road in Auburndale. 

The store will receive a $1,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

Ortagus says she
plans to split the winnings with her boyfriend, Don, a recent cancer survivor
who just finished chemotherapy. She adds that they both have children who will
be entering college soon, so the winnings could not have come at a better time.
