More courtroom drama in Dee Dee Moore trial | News

Tampa, Florida -- The murder trial of a woman accused of killing a Florida Lottery winner hit another bump Friday morning.

Dorice "Dee Dee" Moore told the judge she had a medical emergency Thursday night, after she was given a drug for a kidney problem.  Moore claims her tongue swelled and she went into anaphylactic shock.  She also complained that her ankle cuffs were too tight and cutting into her legs.

A jail doctor is on the way to the courtroom to observe Moore's condition.

Moore's medical problems come a day after courtroom drama between Moore and Judge Emmett Battles.

Judge Battles lost his patience with her on Thursday, scolding Moore several times, telling her she shouldn't gesture or nod during witness testimony and evidence.

Investigators say Moore cozied up to Lakeland lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare by claiming she was writing a book about him. Instead, detectives say she swindled him out of his winnings and killed him.

Shakespeare was missing for months before his body was found in January, 2010.

Moore's attorneys claim Shakespeare was actually killed by a drug dealer, and that it was those who owed Shakespeare money that tried to frame Moore so they didn't have to pay off their debts.

The trial is expected to last about two weeks. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty.
