Tampa, Florida -- A jury has found Lawrence Dickey guilty of murdering his wife with a baseball bat.
Bea Dickey was killed after she and her husband came home from a Journey concert in 2011.
Bea Dickey worked as an assistant for Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. Dickey's two children and stepson were in the home at the time of the murder.
Defense attorneys acknowledged that Dickey killed his wife but argued that the attack was not premeditated. Dickey testified that he was intoxicated and couldn't remember the attack.
On Wednesday, the jury convicted Dickey of second degree murder.
Sentencing has been set for January 25, 2013. He now faces 20 years to life in prison.
